My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.

I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.

I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.

My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)

Utah Trip

My oldest little princess McKenzie and I went on a fun mommy-daughter trip to Salt Lake City, Ut. This was her first time being able to go to General Women's Conference, so we wanted to make it a special one. A tradition my mom started with me and I wanted to do it with my kids. General Woman's Conference is a conference held for the women in the church every 6 months, the week before General Conference. It used to alternate between the girls ages 12-18 and the Relief society sisters. Now they have invited 8 yr olds and older to join and it will be combined with all of the sisters in the church every 6 months.

We flew out of the gateway airport on friday and came home monday night. We picked up the kids a little early for school and went out to lunch. Then we headed to the airport. I was a little ancy to fly. My nerves have been a little edgy this week. We had an uneventful flight. I wanted this trip to be centered around her. Whatever she wanted to do. We played games and watched movies. She taught me how to make rubber band bracelets. Have you ever sat and let your children teach you something? It is a cool experience. It was cool to watch her confidence come out as she explained the process, and encouraged me through it. It helps me see a lot about how she views our relationship. It was encouraging to see it. And that girl is fast at making those things!

Trever's parents picked us up from the airport and took us out to dinner. Then we went to visit Tyson (Trever's) brother and his wife Carrie and there cute little kiddos. We enjoyed visiting and playing. We spent the night in Layton with Trevers parents. They have a beautiful home. It has been way too long since we have been to Utah. We always love being around them and are grateful that they come to visit us often. They spoiled us and we loved it! Thank you so much for the wonderful trip!

Saturday morning we went to breakfast with them, then took off to salt lake. We checked into our hotel and then took off for a day of shopping. We ate at the LionHouse,we browsed Tiffany's, and found some smokin deals thats were too good to pass up. Oh and we stopped at the chocolate factory and tried some yummy chocolates. My favorite was the caramel apple and the chocolate covered toffee.

Later that night we met back up with Joyce and Carrie for women's conference. We sat in the balcony overlooking the room full of amazing women. What an amazing night. We were edified and spiritually fed. It was so awesome to see the choir made up of women ranging from 8-80 years old. We were blessed to see the prophet in person. Even though he was far from our reach, we could feel of his love.

Sunday, we toured the museun, assembly hall and visited with some missionaries.

On Monday we slept in, went bowling, played in the snow and with cousins and went out to lunch. It was a great trip! Our buckets were filled. I cant wait to do it again with the other girls!  Here is a plethora of picts. Out of order... But Im not going to stress about it.

The apple and almond toffee were my favorites.
