My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.

I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.

I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.

My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)

Slaying Dragons

I am so in love with this man!

My awesome husband who has a list of things he could be doing right now, is in the kitchen making salsa for an order that I have, so that I can chill. He also got me these, a few days ago.

Isnt he sweet? He often asks me, is this a dragon I can slay for you? He is seriously my knight in shining armor! He spent all day working from home so that I could get out of the house and do some birthday party shopping. He then ran and did some work outside the house and added in some service on the side for a friend. (He is such a good example of service to me!) Then he came home, watched the kids so I could help make this cake with my girls.

Cute huh? Its for my kids school festival this weekend. They will be auctioning it off as a fundraiser for the school on sat. The theme is board games. We have elements of sorry, chess, twister, monopoly, Candyland and Chutes and Ladders (not pictured yet). We had a good time making it. Though I could have set my ocd aside a little more and let them do more of it. They are technically the ones who should be making it. Our own little female pinewood derby I guess you could say. :)

He is now making a treat for me, in the midst of salsa making and cracking jokes to make me laugh. He gets me so well! Ah I love this guy!

On a different note, tomorrow I get to go back to the gilbert temple. Im so excited to step away from life for a bit and just feel the wonderful peace that is there. I may even go early and just sit on the grounds and soak it all in, so I'm nice and calm for my shift. Im struggling to find the strength to be confident and strong today. Im letting things get to me. I don't like it. Thats not me anymore! Its a process though. I get that.

Here is my "treat"! My favorite midnight snack ever!

Steak frys, hot wing sauce and ranch. Yummo! Did I mention I love my hubby? He totally knows just what to do, to make my day.

Oh yeah and guess what? We are almost done with taxes. We get a pretty decent return back this year. Im so excited. A good chunk is going into savings for our trip this summer! Our little coin jar is filling up quickly. If anyone has a must see stop, let me know. Im wanting to have some fun little stops along the way, to break up the trip.

Well I'm going to go chat with my dragon slayer now. Everyone have a good one. Thanks for letting me vent.
