My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.

I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.

I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.

My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)

The Little things

I have been thinking about all of the cute little things my kids do, the past couple of days. They are each so different and unique and so stinkin cute!

Kaylee has really enjoyed getting caleb to laugh lately. She is playing with him and she has his undivided attention. She had a doll on her head singing an impromptu number to make him giggle, followed by a rousing version of peekaboo and now he and Becca are on top of her wrestling on the floor.  She is such a good friend to her siblings. It is so adorable! She is also testing out her sarcastic abilities. Today she tried to convince me that she didn't like french fries. Bahahahaha. She is hilarious.

Today, we dropped Trever off at work and ran some errands. I hadn't fed the kids breakfast yet, so I asked them what they wanted. Becca replied "dinner". She is at that silly and cute age where she is piecing words together to make sentences. She is starting the "me do it" phase in life. She is learning to be more independent and she is enjoying every minute of it. So am I.

Caleb is now pulling himself up on anything he can. He often starts to slip and his feet spread apart. He gets so frustrated being stuck doing the splits. It makes me giggle every time. He is just so cute about it. He has also started jabbering and making all kinds of noises and face expressions. He is such a handsome and happy little man.

Kaylee is now singing away while Caleb sits on my lap. The playlist?...Jesus wants me for a sunbeam and do you  want to  be a snowman. And then running and falling so that he will laugh. He is just giggling away.

Emma is getting so independent. Kindergarten has really helped her come out of her shell. I love the way she takes pride in her work. She loves to have her friends over as much as possible. She is my snuggle bug. A hug goes a very long way with that little girlie.

Malia has this smile the will turn any frown upside down. I love her passion for life. It will take her far in life. She is such a social butterfly. Especially with the boys. It is adorable how comfortable she is with the boys in her life. Dating age will be such a fun time for her to experience. Im excited for her.

McKenzie is growing into such a beautiful young woman. She has this incredible ability to take her siblings and pull them together to work on a project. Coloring, cleaning, you name it. She is a huge help with her siblings. She has such a sweet personality. I love her ability to focus on a task and plow through it with ease. Here is some pictures from her birthday adventure with grandma yesterday. She had a good time. She rode a horse named Ethel.

  1. Oh my heck, they are such dolls! If we ever move to AZ, we need to move into your neighborhood so they can come play at our house whenever they want!
