Caleb update: this little man is growing like a weed! I am so proud of him. He is up to 6 lbs 12oz now. I just can't believe it. He is eating at least 3/4 of his meals by mouth now. It won't be long before we have our little munchkin home safe and sound. I am so giddy at the thought. It has been such a long road and so much longer than anticipated.
It could still be a while, but since the end is finally in site, we need to start making some changes to accommodate our family of 8. First on the list, get a bigger vehicle. Our 7 passenger just isn't going to cut it any more. Timing is everything at this point. We need to sell our vehicle and buy one pretty much in the same day so we can get around as needed. Aren't planning on too much car time with him for a while, but we need to at least start thinking about buying and selling. I still can't drive, so that puts an interesting twist on the juggle. We have made it through 6 months of endless juggling, so this shouldn't be too bad. Lol
So...If anyone knows of a good deal or someone looking to buy a SUV, I'd love your help in the search. We are looking for a van. At least 8 passenger. I am more into the mini van, and Trever would like the bigger vans. I swore I would never drive one of those, but the idea is growing on me. Our budget is only what we can get our car for. We are selling it for $6000. So if you see anything out there for under that price, please let me know. Thanks so much!
Our car is a 2005 GMC Envoy. It is a good reliable car. Cosmetically not fabulous. Hey it's carried us on many many family rides during lunch time. But a good detailing and it should be good to go. We just can't afford to detail it ourselves, so we knocked down the price. The blue book on it is about $7000. It has about 117 k miles on it. Ill have to double check that but it's somewhere around there.
We are going to get it up on craigslist in the next couple of days. So I can post the link. Just one more thing towards ending this phase of our lives. Thanks for indulging me. Not so much about surviving Accreta. But hey it's life.

My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.
I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.
I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.
My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)
