I am gazing out my window at the clouds and all of their beauty. In the distance, there is a storm rolling by. I can see the rain pouring through the dark clouds. It is so beautiful!
I'm excited for a fun night with the ladies tonight. A few friends from the ward are coming to hang out with me!! I hope they don't get caught in the storm. Be safe gals!
I had a much needed date night with my handsome prince last night. thanks so much Sharon!!We talked the night away while he rubbed my legs and feet. I tell ya, I am one very blessed woman to have him in my life! He gave me the most amazing priesthood blessing before he left. Normally i am very private about things like this, due to its sacredness, but i felt that this would be comforting to others as well. (In my own words....) I was told that Heavenly Father has been preparing for this time long before I came to the hospital. He has prepared the doctors by helping them through their exams and their training, to be able to learn the things they needed to, to help me and the baby at this time.
That was so neat to me. And so very comforting! To know that he helped and guided the doctors for years to prepare to take care of us specifically.... What a tender mercy!
Things have been wonderful here this week. Besides a couple unnecessary blood draws ordered by good ol' Dr. L. (the resident Dr. that I have a personality dilemma with right now) But I am sure The Lord has been preparing him as well, so I'll take it. Everything happens for a reason right?
Anyway, good week. Physical therapy came in today, to show me some very basic stretches and exercises that I can do, to help keep circulation and strength up. The new mattress is awesome!! I have been sleeping so much better and without medication. Cramping/contractions are very very minimal and spotting has stopped! Monitoring is pretty minimal and they let me just hang out and do my thing. People are still in and out just during the day, checking on me to see if I need anything, bringing me snacks, dinner and water. Ahh this is the life :)
I'm missing my kiddos like crazy. Ill get to see them tomorrow for my 3yr old's birthday! She is so excited. Trever is on a date with our oldest right now. They are getting a baptism dress. She will be baptized in 2 weeks. It will be hers and my 5 year old's birthday that day. All those who know her are welcome to come. I am sad to miss it. But I am so thankful for modern technology. We got special permission to be able to see it all through the web cam.
Sorry about the random typos. My auto correct seems to think it knows what I want to say before I say it. Lol I miss quite a few of those, I'm sure.
Also, soon after I posted the last post, the other doctor emailed me the official Accreta document they like to use. It is loaded with tons of info. If anyone would like me to email it to you, send me your email address. Thanks to all those that have offered prayers, food, money etc to help us in this time. It has been such a blessing. We feel very sustained by The Lord through all of your fasting and prayers etc. thanks so very much!!

My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.
I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.
I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.
My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)
