My name is Jennie. I'm a wife and a mother. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Trever, for 9 wonderful years. We have 5 beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy and excitement. We just had our 6th child. Our son Caleb.

I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Placenta Accreta along with Placenta Previa. Accreta is a condition where the placenta attaches to the scar tissue in the uterus. It will often continue to grow to deeper tissue (increta) and even through the uterus attaching to other organs(percreta). I ended up having an 11 hour surgery, including a hystorectomy, and bladder repair. I received 7 units of blood and blood parts. (This is a lot of blood loss for my surgeons, but minimal blood loss to those who are not as experienced in these deliveries. I spent 36 hours in the ICU after surgery. I have also had many other complications afterwards including another minor surgery 2 weeks later. These complications are somewhat normal for the type of surgery I had.

I had a team of specialists doing my surgery. Obgyns, Gyno-oncologists, trauma surgeons, urologists and anesthesiologists. This team has specialized in techniques helping with minimal blood loss. Those with accreta , loose large amounts of blood because the placenta cannot detach naturally at delivery.

My goal is to help save women's lives by giving this terrible condition a voice. So many are ignorant to its fatal attack. Doctors and women alike, need to be educated about Accreta. Many have never even heard of it. The numbers are on the rise because of so many women choosing to have c-sections when it isn't necessary. Not all women can avoid it, but many can. Please help me give Accreta a voice, by sharing the information in this blog. (There are numerous posts with information on Accreta as well as the Accreta team who took such great care of me.)

Special day!!

I love Tuesdays! That is my Trever day. My mom watched the kids so that Trever could come and see me and we could have some time together. Thank you so much mom!!

Just before he got here. I got a visit from my friend Angela. She happened to be working at this hospital today. She spent her lunch break with us. It was so fun to sit and chat. Thanks so mutch for coming Angela!

Trever rubbed my feet and legs for me. We ate lunch and just sat and talked about life. Then the NICU nurse came in  and took us on a tour. We got to see where the baby will be if he needs to stay here.

I also talked to one of the resident doctors. She said that we are going to shoot for Friday March 29th for delivery.  He will be almost 36 weeks at that point! With the steroids, he may not even need extra care! What an exciting thought!! That's forever to wait it seems, but I'm excited that if I am good and there are no emergencies... We might all be together again the first of April sometime.

It was hard to say goodbye to him, but I am so grateful for those that helped make it possible. We got a sweet card today with a huge blessing inside. We have been so blessed by amazing friends and family who have taken such good care of us. I am so thankful to The Lord and those that have been his hands in our lives.

I am so thankful for an amazing husbands who keeps things running at home so that our kids don't feel the stress on the recent changes.  He has kept the house running like a well oiled machine. It's amazing! Laundry, baths, dishes, shopping, school schedules etc.  I don't know how he does it.  I know that The Lord is really sustaining him and watching over us. We are so thankful for the meals and offers for help. They have been such a huge blessing!! It has been a huge support for our little family.

I have never been good at thank you cards. I wish I was.... So if I don't get one to each of you... Thank you!!! The meals, babysitting, gifts, prayers, phone calls and visits mean so very much to us!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
